Prompt Tree Challenge!

What we are doing here is a Prompt Tree Challenge. Any fandom is welcome, or for that matter things that aren't usually considered fandoms (historical figures, mythology, whatever you want). Gen and smut of any type are both welcome. eta: Fanart is okay, too - but if you post art, please link to it instead of posting it directly in the comments, and use appropriate warnings.

To explain how this works, I'm just going to use a really popular fandom with easily recognizable characters.

First, you leave a top-level comment with the name of a character you'd like people to write about. (For clarity, please put the series the character is from in parenthesis, since occasionally names do repeat. Abbreviations are fine, since presumably interested parties will recognize them.)

Edward Elric (FMA)

People interested in that character reply to that comment with a character (or more than one character) they want to pair the first character up with (in either a gen or porny context).

(To help people find the pairings they're interested in reading/writing about, please change the subject line of the comment at this point to the pairing in question - for instance, if you responded to Edward Elric with Roy Mustang, make your subject line Edward Elric/Roy Mustang.)

People who wish to leave a specific prompt at this point can leave one either for a pairing, or for the top level character. Examples:

Edward Elric
Roy Mustang
clash of tempers

OR:

Edward Elric
what was sacrificed

People can leave fic at any point in this tree - they can write random fic for the top-level single character, random fic for any of the character pairings, or fic in response to one of the prompts.

Points to remember:

Make sure if you're responding to a pairing by itself that you leave your fic as a reply to the pairing; if you're responding to a specific prompt, leave your comment as a response to the prompt. Also remember, in the above example, if you want to leave a prompt for Roy Mustang by himself or pair him with a different character, start a new comment tree.

As I mentioned, please use the subject lines to clarify the pairing!

Please add "FIC" to the subject line if you are adding fic, so that people can easily distinguish between fic and prompts! Ex: "FIC: Ed/Roy (FMA)"

ALSO, I'm going to ask that if you're writing porn, please add "[MA]" to the subject line for your comment fic, so that people who don't want to read smut can skip it. Ex: "FIC: Ed/Roy (FMA) [MA]". (HOWEVER, this is forwarning to everyone: I am sure that some of us are going to forget about the porn warning on occasion, so you may well stumble across something that squicks you. If this is a truly horrible thought, you may want to skip this challenge. XD;)

Yes, you are free to respond to your own characters/pairings/prompts with a pairing/prompt/fic, if you want. And yes, multiple people can respond to the same characters/pairings/prompts.

I will leave some prompts to start with so everyone can look and see what I'm on about! If you are still confused after that, ask any questions here.

For the past year I've dreamed about her. In the beginning I thought I knew why she filled my thoughts. Worry and fear, plain and simple. Kyoko wasn't even in the acting section and she was able to cause Ren Tsuruga to act seriously with her. I am a famous Idol, almost as well known and popular as him, and yet he paid no attention to me when I was acting with him.

After Kyoko left the set, I worked hard to prove that I could do just as well, if not better, than that no-talent love me section member. Thanks to my hard work we even finished ahead of schedule. The movie end up fairly popular, but it could have been so much better and everyone who worked on it knew it. Mr. Tsuruga and I were missing that special zing that we all had seen between him and Kyoko. Knowing that she was waiting there in the wings of the acting world caused me to decide to stick with being an Idol. There I knew I was capable of reining supreme over any upstarts who dared to attempt to overthrow me.

I followed her career just to make sure that she was who I thought she was. Pretty soon I found myself with a scrapbook full of articles on her and the projects she was in as she got bigger and bigger. A boyfriend found one of them and I broke up with him soon after that. A girl needs her privacy and a boyfriend should respect that. It really had nothing to due with the fact that the thought of him touching my scrapbooks just felt wrong. Our breakup wasn’t the most peaceful though and one of the complaints he tossed around as an excuse for going through my stuff was that he wanted to know more about the person he was second to. He wasn’t even close to being second on my list of importance, maybe tenth.

Then came Christmas, and hearing about her with her “best friend” Moko from some of the guests. To be so excited over some little, cheesy make up set just because it came from this Moko. What is so special about this girl that Kyoko ignores Ren Tsuruga for her. Why I am I dreaming of being the one Kyoko is so happy to see? There is no reason for me to be so jealous of some girl who is just getting started and is still in the Love Me section when I am a huge star in my own right.

Very nice! Kyoko has such an impact on everyone she works with; it was nice to see a bit of follow-up with Ruriko.

Kyoko does doesn't she. I wish I could have done more with your lovely prompt. There is a lot of potential with those two.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to go reread the series. I stopped at vol. 3 to write this, so now I get to go finish rereading it. :)

What a lovely look at Ruriko and the intense mark Kyoko made on her! One of my favorite things about Skip Beat is how it always leaves the female antagonists Kyoko meet so much happier/stronger/wholer after she enters their lives, and it's wonderful to see that explored in fic like this. I especially enjoy Ruriko's jealousy over Moko. :D
