Porn tree challenge - March 2022 (and concurrent amnesty!)

...Mein gott. I have no excuse. None whatsoever. I'm very sorry.

*head in hands, yet again*

Since I completely spaced this last month, we're uh...going to do something a little different. I'm going to open this month's challenge AND we're going to run February's amnesty at the same time.

First, the amnesty:

If you have any fic, for any challenge within the past year, you didn't get posted before the deadline, feel free to post it here and now on this entry. Just name the series, pairing and prompt either in your subject line or in your comment proper, please note it as amnesty in the subject line, and then post away! Hopefully this will allow you guys to do something with any abandoned fills you didn't get to post previously.

And round 56:

WARNING: This comm is anon-friendly, so viewer advisories and the like are turned off. However, you will likely find sexually explicit material here, and you may possibly find content that is disturbing or triggering in some fashion. Please turn back if you are not of age to view sexually explicit material and/or okay with the thought of maybe running across potentially disturbing things. We want the porn tree to be fun for everyone, not a horrific experience!

What we are doing here is a Prompt Tree Challenge. Any fandom is welcome, or for that matter things that aren't usually considered fandoms (historical figures, mythology, whatever you want - go for it! More power to you.) Gen and smut of any type are both welcome. Fanart is welcome, too - but if you post art, please link to it instead of posting it directly in the comments, and use appropriate warnings.

I'll go ahead and try to explain how this'll work. Please read the instructions, even if you have participated in previous challenges.

First, you leave a top-level comment on the prompt post naming the fandom you'd like to see people write in, both in the comment and the subject line. Example: you want someone to write fic for...oh, I don't know, how about the game Tales of the Abyss. So your comment and your subject line both say:

   Tales of the Abyss

Then anyone who wants to, including the original poster, can reply to that comment with the name of a character from that fandom they'd like to see people write about. Let's say one of you wants someone to write about Luke. Now it should look like this:

   Tales of the Abyss

      Luke fon Fabre

People who are interested in that character can then reply to that comment with one or more characters they want to pair the first character up with (in either a gen or porny context). So you might get a thread that's starting to look like this:

   Tales of the Abyss

      Luke fon Fabre

         Guy Cecil

         Tear Grants

HOWEVER - when you comment with the response character, please change the subject line of your comment to reflect the pairing you're going for (i.e. if you responded to Luke with Tear, your subject line would say Luke fon Fabre/Tear Grants or Luke/Tear.) It's a good way of helping people keep track of pairings that have already been asked for, and helping them find pairings they might be interested in reading or writing.

People who wish to leave a specific prompt at this point can leave one either for a pairing, or for a single character. For example:

   Tales of the Abyss

      Luke fon Fabre

         Tear Grants

            fonic hymns

OR:

   Tales of the Abyss

      Luke fon Fabre

         memory

People can leave fic at any point in this tree - they can write fic for a single character, fic for any of the character pairings, or fic in response to one of the prompts. Again, please change the subject line to reflect the character or pairing and the prompt (if there's no prompt, just put "no prompt" instead.) Example:

   Tales of the Abyss

      Luke fon Fabre

Any fic about Luke goes here

         Tear Grants

            Luke/Tear fic goes here

            fonic hymns

Luke/Tear fic specifically responding to the "fonic hymns" prompt goes here.

Points to remember:

* Make sure if you're responding to a pairing by itself that you leave your fic as a reply to the pairing; if you're responding to a specific prompt, leave your comment as a response to the prompt. Also remember, in the above example, if you wanted to leave a prompt for Guy or Tear by themselves, or pair them with a different character, you'd just start a new comment tree under the Tales of the Abyss heading. (See why it's a porn tree now?)

* It's fine to leave responses to your own comments if you have specific characters you want to see paired off with the character you first named. Don't be afraid to leave multiple pairings and prompts. You left a comment about Kamui Shirou from X/1999, and you want to then offer up the opportunity to pair him with Kotori Monou? Go for it. You commented with Vashyron from Resonance of Fate, and you have a hankering to see him in bed with Zephyr? Pair away. You want to leave prompts to your own characters or pairings? Feel free. We won't yell at you. In fact, we encourage it.

* Related to the above, you are perfectly allowed to fill your own prompts!

* You can also prompt for platonic pairings (using Final Fantasy XIII for an example, Snow & Serah as opposed to Snow/Serah) - it doesn't just have to be romantic!

* Please only post a pairing once. This is where the subject line thing comes in so very handy. Check the subject lines for your pairing, and if it's not listed, go wild. But if it's already there, please don't post it again - feel free to leave a prompt, though! Multiple people are allowed to leave prompts to the same pairing.

* Related to the above, it does not matter what order the pairing is in - if, for example, you have Kazuki and Soushi from Soukyuu no Fafner, Kazuki/Soushi and Soushi/Kazuki would be considered the same pairing. (This is something I'm willing to change, if enough people wish it so.)

* Yes, you are free to request crossovers - if, say, you find a comment with Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, and you want to pair him up with Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass (hey, go wild if that's your thing), just reply to the Edward comment with something like "Lelouch (Code Geass)".

* Please do not lump all the games in a single franchise or series together! It may be tempting to drop every Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star game under a single heading labeled "(series name) series", but in the interests of more easily finding a specific game without having to hunt all over through one top-level comment, please make a separate top-level comment for each game.

* Please do not leave an empty top-level comment with no pairings or characters under it. I know the idea behind that is to get other people's imaginations going, but please leave at least one for the sake of clarity. Empty top-level comments will be deleted after twenty-four hours.

* Please, please, please use the subject lines to clarify your pairings! It makes it so much easier on all of us, whether we're reading, writing or just keeping an eye on things.

* In the spirit of the above, please only use the localised names for characters, unless you're prompting for a series that has been unreleased outside of its home country. If you think people won't recognise the character without the non-localised name, you can certainly feel free to add it in parentheses after. Example: "Jessica Philomele (Philomel Hartung)".

* And again looking at the above, if the character you're prompting for goes by a nickname that would be more easily recognised than their actual name, put that nickname in the subject line and the character's full name (then followed by nickname in parentheses, if you so choose) in the comment itself. Of course, it is totally up to you what you think would be more easily recognised.

* Please add "FIC" to the subject line if you are posting fic, (and likewise, "ART" if you're posting a link to art) so that people can easily distinguish between fic (or art) and prompts! Example: "FIC: Luke/Tear (no prompt)".

* I'm also going to ask that if you're writing or drawing porn, please add "[MA]" to the subject line for your comment, so that people who aren't here for smut can skip it. Example: "[MA] FIC: Anakin/Padme, under the stars". (HOWEVER, this is a big, big forewarning to everyone: I am sure that some of us are going to forget about the porn warning on occasion, so you may well stumble across something that squicks you. If this is a truly horrible thought, you may want to skip this challenge.)

* If you're writing for something new enough to have spoilers, and it may well spoil things, please add "[S]" to the subject line. Example: "[S] FIC: Steve/Bucky, reunion". I know it's pretty subjective as to how new "new enough" is, especially depending on popularity, so we'll go with six months out you'll no longer need the spoiler tag. Anything within six months of release that may have spoilers, you'll need to tag.

* Do not post prompts or responses to older challenges outside of amnesty periods. There is amnesty every other month, allowing you to prompt for or respond to any challenge from within the past year only (e.g.: amnesty for February 2018 allows for prompts or responses to any challenge back to February 2017), and every December is Everything Amnesty, allowing you to prompt for or respond to any challenge ever posted. Prompts for or responses to past challenges outside of their respective amnesty periods will be deleted.

* Responses posted up to fifteen minutes after the end of a challenge - up to 12:14 AM Central Standard Time - will still be accepted. Any responses posted after that will be considered invalid and deleted. (Unless I was stupid and didn't open the challenge on time; at that point, I'll accept any prompts left up until the next challenge post goes up. I won't punish you guys for my own lateness.)

I'll leave a couple of prompts to start with so you get the general idea. If you're still confused, go ahead and ask questions here; I'll try to respond to them the best I can.

This challenge will run until April 1st, 11:59 PM Central Standard Time. Let the March 2022 porn tree challenge begin! Happy porning! (And I'm, once again, so sorry about this.)
